Yoga & Meditation Class
Meditation can give you a sense of calm, peace and balance that can benefit both your emotional well-being and your overall health. And these benefits don't end when your meditation session ends. Meditation can help carry you more calmly through your day and may help you manage symptoms of certain medical conditions.
Yoga is a healing practice that balances body, mind and emotions.
About the Instructor
Shireen
The path to yoga was more of a return to yoga. I would say full circle but in actuality we never return to the exact same place twice…so it would be more of a spiral and an unraveling.
I moved up north to study philosophy at Berkeley. I started boxing to help me focus better in school. Eventually, the boxing became Muay I learned so much from these fighters about the discipline it takes to train the body AND mind. Before I moved back to SOCal to be with my family, I started doing yoga because one of the female fighters suggested I try it. I’m so grateful to her for that because yoga has been like a return home for me. The way it helps to balance energy, to open up any blocked areas in the body, the way it takes us out of the mind and back to the heart. This has always been my medicine… to live from the heart and to help others reconnect back to there. To remember who they are at the center.
The way I have been teaching yoga the last few years has changed since I am also finishing up the educational requirements to become a nurse. Learning in depth about the human body reinforces the intuitive belief that finding balance in the body and mind is the key to preventing so many diseases. My goal is to help people connect western and eastern philosophies as well as to understand the body and mind are connection so that they may improve their physical and mental health. My classes could be described as intuitive and therapeutic.
